This site will no longer be maintained unless someone takes over. I hope I have helped in the short time I was able to run the site.

Not a lot to report just now. Evil Dragon re-iterated some things which I have added to the Chart. For completeness, I have added the key points here.

. About 650 - 700 Pandora Consoles should be with customers now. This is spread between GBAX, Faith and ED.

. Many LCD Cables were broken or damaged at the start of construction, but they had 4000 cables on-site in the UK, so supply wasn't a problem.  Out of the Last 200 Pandora they built only one had a failed LCD cable, so the team have a better technique with almost zero failure.

. Quite a few motherboards from the first few hundred Pandoras failed and had to go back for repair to Texas, but in the last 200 only a couple were faulty.  There are 400 new motherboards already produced in Texas, just waiting for the nubs to be soldered to them which doesn't take long. The first batch of 'checked nubs' should arrive in Texas this week, this will allow production to continue way faster.

. There are about 250 cases left in the UK allow building of new units. The next 3000 are either in production in China or already finished and awaiting shipping to the UK.

A useful post landed yesterday on the forums. This was responded to by Craig and provided some fresh insight into the real production staus.
This has led to a large change in the figures on the Pandora Production Chart. I have also decided not to try to guess on 'one nub' and other variances. From now on, I will simply report how many have been constructed, how many of these have shipped and the remainder will be held stock, faulty stock or other stock e.g. review / staff reference. The figures are still approximate, but should be pretty close to the real picture.

I've added a "When will I get my Pandora?" calculation to the PANDORA PRODUCTION PROGRESS bar chart.
This is based on the average build rate since production 'proper' began. Clearly building will be done in fits and starts, and there will also be times when perhaps the team wait for parts or deliveries, or heaven fortend, another volcano errupts. However, as an average figure it should play out to be reasonably accurate. If you disagree, let me know why and what you'd recommend as a guide.

A useful Order Date / Delivery POLL has appeared on the Official Forum:

Pandora Nub

Craig has some more "one nub" units for people brave enough to jump the queue at the risk of being nubbily challenged.

Posted 17 June, 11:47 AM
Finished the 200 today. Do not panic if you didn't receive your email yet, they will keep shipping until Monday. There are about 10 units on which one of the nubs does not work, if you want to queue jump it's the openpandorasales email address. While plenty of people can resurrect them you should still expect it to NEVER WORK.

Chinese Cases

Craig also re-assures us that the the cases will NOT be a problem or a delay.

The 3000 cases is in hand, it's not a delay of any kind. They will ship when we need them. As has been said before, it's either speed or QC. We're going with QC right now, but speed will improve over time while keeping the QC.
